Ordered online for delivery, received my meal 2 hours later. UNACCEPTABLE! My meat was salty and food was cold. Delivery guy wouldn't give me my food until I paid him. I definitely will not be ordering from JnJs anymore

I've only ever ordered the catfish here, and it's pretty good. I highly recommend the fried cabbage if you like cabbage and fried stuff. I prefer the cornbread over the biscuits since the biscuits are usually a little dry. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because their timing is always off. I called to order, they said 20 minutes, so I left 15 minutes later and still had to wait around for over 20 minutes for my food. Fat kid problems.

The food here used to be better when it first opened. The last time I went the catfish was soggy and didn't have the texture of real fish. The collard greens are plain and nasty. The yams and cornbread were ok. I've had enough of this place and it's counterpart next door. Go to Georgia Peach instead, that's a little bit better.

I ordered ribs, French fries, hush puppies and banana pudding. The ribs were honestly the only good part of the meal. The banana pudding tasted old. I'm from Tennessee and this isn't what I would consider southern cuisine by a long shot.

A Southern Kitchen, owned by Russians with Mexicans in the kitchen. Sounds like a recipe for disaster Quite the opposite I have lived in OM for a good while I have ordered stuff from them since they have opened Everything i have gotten has been top notch All the sides are amazing The BB ribs are REALLY good, as well as the fried chicken(a thigh is $1.79!!!). We ordered food recently while watching the Ravens. I was with some people who eat pretty basic food. One got a tuna salad sand, one got a chicken salad salad. The tuna salad was 8/10 and the chicken salad sand was the best i have ever had and HUGE Also, they own "The Big Cheese" which is attached to it and which you can order from also. The subs are all REALLY good, esp the seafoood chicken cheesesteaks, cheesesteaks and hot italian. I haven't ever ordered anything but subs, so that's all i can vouch for Anyway, if you live in OM, and you wanna get soul/southern food, you can go to that horrific place in the mall, Georgia Peach on Lakeside which is good, but nowhere near as good as JJ. And please don't even bring up Famous Dave's. There are a few other places that you'd have to drive a bit further to, but they can't compare. This is the best by far Also, i have neaver eaten in house, only carry out or delivery When i get delivery, and give them my #, they already have my address and name I have never waited any longer than 45mins, and i live in New Town a good distance away Check them out Great food

I ordered from here last week, and I have to say, it's probably the best food I've found out of Owings Mills. I had ribs, hush puppies, and Mac and Cheese and it was ALL amazing. It also came with cornbread that reminded me of my TN roots! Delicious! Would definitely recommend to anyone!!

Moderate delivery times up to 60 mins. The greens were the best I've tasted. Their cabbage with bacon was different but good. I would try another dish next time, the chicken wings are big and fried correctly. Try them out if you're in the mood for southern food.

A-OK. SO SO The owners are Russians, Some do speak English and some of the staff don't speak good English! However customer service is always friendly. The place doesn't look very clean or fancy, I would call for delivery or pick up! The bathroom is unisex and shared by the The Big Cheese Pizza and Subs which has the same ownership as JNJ Southern Kitchen! The food quality is alright, Takes long time to be ready sometime fried and greasy. overall ain't that bad! the most complain I have is They always close early they have sign out there on the window hanging which says close:10pm but they never close on time.. Last time they were closed at 9:40pm which was 20 min earlier afrer me driving 15 min to get there... which is not professional by business owners and cause them loose their customers! If you guys can't stay long then change the damn sign hours not to fool customers and cause them arrive there and see the closed doors that very very rude and insulting!

Just like mom used to make...I arrived in town for a meeting and settled into my hotel and ordered the smothered chicken with greens...after an hour, called to verify it was on it's way, it was...and it was well worth the wait. This took me back to mom's smothered chicken over wild rice...amazing flavor and honestly more than you can finish in one evening. I was so pleased, I ate more than my fill. If/when I return, I will make this a repeat.

Ordered delivery from here while visiting family. The fried catfish, candied yams and corn bread were on point. I would definitely order from them again.

The food here is horrible! This is not southern American food by a long shot. I needed some Pepto Bismol after trying to eat the first dish. There is nothing soul foodish, made well or delicious about this place. I want my money back!

I prefer not to order from here because they tell you that they'll be there in 45 minutes and it always takes about 2 hours for your food to arrive...I could have went to the market and did the work myself in the same time. JNJ is owned by I believe to be Russians, doing their best rendition of soul food. The food is always made to order, fresh and hot. I can assume that. I can say that the spices aren't quite up to par for soul food, they are lacking. They serve fried chicken(always the size of two breasts), ribs, wings, collard greens, mac & cheese, cornbread, fish, etc. The greens are very regular and bland, no seasoning and the macaroni and cheese wasn't cheesey enough. It is a good full meal and they are reasonable prices around $10 plus per person. If you're looking for authentic soul food comforting goodness it is NOT to be found at JNJ!!! The prices are okay and a couple dollars more than expected in most soul food places. If I wanted an almost wannabe home cooked meal I may dial the number I just know to have my salt, pepper and hot sauce handy when they knock on the door.

Those crazy Russians did it again! First with The Big Cheese and again with JNJ. Everything on the menu is fantastic. All of the fried fish dishes are amazing! I recommend the pork chops or the St. Louis ribs. The fried cabbage and collard greens are some of the best you can possibly find. I can't say enough about how perfect this place is. If you are going to eat the food you better drive in and pick it up yourself because this place gets BUSY! You'll be waiting quite a long time for delivery so don't act all surprised when it takes over an hour.

This restaurant food made my daughter and me sick. I watched them microwave their food. We never eat there again.

Do not eat here!!! This is the nastiest food ever. Its not seasoned, cornbread was stale, fried fish was not crunchie, yams were dry, i can go on for days. I spent $46 of wasted money cause it all went in the trash!!

JNJ has the option to eat in or carry out with delivery. We have only had delivery for this place. The food is good. The portions are very generous: Most meals come with 2 sides and either a bisquit or cornbread. I would suggest the chicken dinners and ribs. Definetely will satisfy your southern food cravings.

Had chicken wings and beef ribs delivered to my room. Portions are enormous. Prices are very reasonable.

Was here recently with 3 others. Food took about 30 minutes to come and I gotta say, I've had better at KFC and Popeye's. The chicken was tasty, the breading however was somewhat bland. The biscuits looked like KFC biscuits that had been wrapped up in cling wrap. This is a take out / delivery place that happens to have a few tables inside but they don't want you to eat there really. Food comes in styrofoam containers, so naturally the hot grease from the chicken melts a hole thru the styrofoam. I really hope the delivery guy has a clean car.... Speaking of clean, the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. That reason alone will keep me from coming back. Dirty and a funky smell. Makes me wonder what the kitchen, that the customer can't see, looks like.

I was so disappointed in this restaurant. The portions are large but I found the ribs dry and lacking in flavor. The sides could have been better seasoned. I wanted cake so I got the Coconut cake and it was a big let down. This restaurant has tables for dining in but I opted to have a. "To Go" meal. The best thing was the fries. I would not return if given a choice.

We eat here once every week. The soul food is made from scratch and amazing. Food is always consistently awesome. Love the smothered pork chops, BBQ short ribs, fried chicken wings, fried catfish, jambalaya, cornbread, cobbler the list goes on and on. They deliver too!.

The wait is extremely long but the food is worth the wait!!!!.....best southern food around! The food is pricey and portions just right. I would go on and on but my food is ready for me to enjoy!

Ehhh...it was OK. I would try something else if I were to order food again. I got the catfish (the batter was too thick and salty), the cornbread (more like corn cake), mashed potatoes (bland) and green beans (bland as well). I heard they have hush puppies. I really like those, so if they bomb those, I'm done.

Wife, myself and 3 year old got two combos: baby back ribs with cornbread, corn and hush puppies and a 4-piece fried chicken with fries (instead of slaw) and a biscuit. We got bottled drinks from the case. They said it would be about 20 minutes since they cook the chicken to order, so I took the toddler for a walk. The ribs were up first then the chicken. Everything was excellent except for the biscuit which was chewy not flakey. The chicken was crispy and the fries tasted like hand-cut one. There are a few tables in the restaurant. When the food is ready, they sit the styrofoam contain on the counter and tell you it's ready. There is a unisex single bathroom in the front. We spent $26 and brought home the chicken breast for later.

Stuck in the house, there are not many places delivering. New place and called on a whim. Service was fast and food was good!! I had the fried catfish with collard greens and macaroni and cheese. Food was fresh, not greasy and definitely cheered me up after being stuck in the house. My mother was born and raised in Louisiana and I am pretty picky about my southern food, but what I had was above average... The macaroni and cheese isn't baked, which I am used to, but was still tasty...Will order again...Thanks!
